22% citizens of El Salvador don’t know what is bitcoin: Survey

A survey noted that only 27% of people have trust with Bitcoin. And there are huge numbers of people, who don’t know what the meaning of Bitcoin is.

On 7 September, El Salvador officially adopted Bitcoin as Currency. Before and after the adoption of Bitcoin by El Salvador, many surveys have been conducted by different organizations. Almost every different survey showed different thinking of the citizens of El Salvador on Bitcoin and Bitcoin law. 

Now the latest survey has been recently conducted by the University Institute of Public Opinion of the Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas (UCA) in El Salvador. 

This new survey was conducted on a total of 1,298 people in El Salvador. And this survey was conducted between December 7 and December 17, 2021. 

A report published by the University on behalf of this recent survey noted that there are huge numbers of citizens in El Salvador, which are struggling to understand what bitcoin is.

The survey reveals that there are only 14.1% of people who fully believe in bitcoin. While there are only 13.2%, who have some confidence in bitcoin. On the other hand, there are 38% population who don’t trust Bitcoin at all.

A strange thing that came to light is that 22% of the population don’t know what bitcoin is and these people are not able to understand how to use it and why to use it. 

Findings of this survey revealed that the majority of the people think that Bitcoin and Bitcoin laws of the country are only made for the government and wealthy people to become rich. 

25.5% of respondents think that Bitcoin will give benefits to rich people. While 20% think that it will help the government authorities. Besides all these people, there are only 10.9% of people, who think that Bitcoin and its laws are made to help the public.
